Day trip to the zoo....

All worn out.........check out Creeds lashes and lips! So adorable....
Cute boys

Cole loves holding the map and looking at every map we pass. Just making sure we don't miss anything
Creed's new bestie
We watched this gorilla for quite awhile. He sat there the whole time we were there eating his own throw up. It was quite disgusting but at the same time entertaining. Made me grateful for my human children. Can't imagine having gorilla babies.
Flamingos! Cole kept talking about how sad Savannah would be that she missed her favorite animal
We like to take a weekly outing with the boys when Savvy is in school. A few weeks ago we decided to hit the LA zoo. First stop-meer cats. Cole loves them and always runs all the way there from the entrance.

Weekend trip to az...

We spent Halloween weekend in Arizona. Savannah love playing dress up in Alauna's room. She has a huge stage in the corner with lots of costumes. This particular costume was a "pioneer girl" She was wearing one of Jan's 80's jumpsuits, a pair of alauna's boots, and a pioneer hat.
Love how the boots go all the way up her legs!! She put on several plays for us that weekend. This one involved a lost dog in the forest. Then the dramatic ending where she finds it and all is well.
We also stopped by a pumpkin patch since it was Halloween weekend. Even though I had brought my camera and it ran out of batteries after the first day :(
The kids each got to pick their own pumpkin out.

And look at fat pigs. In the 90 degree heat. Yes this was the end of October and it was 90 degrees!
Cute Coley
Grandma decided to come along for the visit. Obviously she is used to the AZ weather because she kept saying how nice it felt. Notice the cardigan. The rest of us were sweating and she was doing just great.
The night we got there Creed fell on some tile steps. Well I never really knew what a goose egg bump was until that night. It was so scary looking! It popped out a couple inches off his head and looked super freaky. Of course it was around 9 pm as well so Creed was exhausted. We tried to keep him awake but he kept falling asleep. We slept in the same room as him that night and kept checking him throughout the night to make sure he was ok. I called the nurse and she was like is he slurring words---um all the time, he barely talks!! On that subject, Creed actually started Speech therapy this week. His speech therapist was so nice and he seemed to love the whole experience. Just a bunch of new toys and books to look at. I know 3rd kids talk less sometimes because their brothers and sisters do all the talking for them (that's what my dr said) but figured speech therapy couldn't hurt. Since his first session on friday he has actually starting saying Mama for the first time. he used to call me dada. Everyone else by their name (cole, savvy, dog) but I was dada. So I am pretty thrilled. Savvy and Cole started saying it around 10 months so it was so frustrating for me that he would never say it before yesterday! Hopefully he will start to pick up more words as we keep working with him.

Disneyland with the Strongs!

We were able to meet up with Brandt and Soupie's family at Disneyland. It was so nice to see them
Mike will kill me for putting up this picture, but i couldn't get both the brothers all the way in the shot.
Creed still isn't too sure about the merry go round. I have to be touching him or else he gets pretty nervous
Savvy, Cole and Tayler. She looks so adorable with her glasses!
Creed taking a little nap mid-day

I would rather skip the tea cups. They make me dizzy. The kids go crazy for them though. Cole always tells me "push like Daddy mom! Go faster"

Unlike Creed, Cole does not want me anywhere near him. He said Mom go over "there" and pointed to the other side of the carousel. Ok mr independent

It was great to see them, we will have to come visit you guys next!

halloween fun!

We had a monkey, a dragon, a Hannah Montana :)

creed wouldn't keep his hat on but it was super cute when he did!

We did a ton of halloween activites this year but for some reason left our camera at home for most of them. Here's some pics from a school carnival though.

Time for change

I'm sure in Utah the changing of the color of the leaves has started and is probably almost completed and the remaining few leaves are mostly brown and withered. Here in our neck of the woods the trees are still a beautiful green and in some cases growing more now than in the summer due to some recent rain. We don't get the beautiful fall colors that can be found in colder climates, unless you're willing to go out and find the very few that are found in the many canyons leading from the beach. I decided to do just that.
I have wanted to ride my bike down Sycamore Canyon from Newbury Park to the beach for a couple years but never got around to doing it. So finally I decided it was time. It's about an 8 mile ride each way and I really didn't think it would be too hard.
By the time I made it to the beach, my legs were already feeling week and rather than being able to relax and enjoy the beach for awhile, I had to turn right around and head back so I could pick up Savannah from school. I had just enough time to pull the camera out to snap a couple pictures. By the time I hit the bottom of the canyon on my way back up, my legs were cramping up really bad. I thought that it would be easier to hop off the bike and walk it for a bit, but when I got off, I could barely walk. The problem was that I had played basketball for a solid two hours the night before so my legs were already running on empty. So that was my sign that it's time to start running again. I do not like being this out of shape! Still a fun ride though.
The canyon was really nice and quite cool on the way down. I also found a few leaves that were changing colors. Just past the Native American Interpretation center I saw a road runner. I've never seen one in real life so it was interesting. I saw one more road runner in the canyon along with several woodpeckers, squirrels, a few rabbits and three deer. It's fun to live in an area where we can be so close to the city, the beach and the outdoors too.
